CELIA GLYDE HUSBAND

ARTIST

A practising artist and photographer, I have been working in acrylic and mixed media painting for a number of years and have just completed my BA (Hons) in Fine Art.

I paint a wide range of subjects and my paintings are bright and colourful, I am a keen photographer and always have my camera handy as I travel on holiday or around my home town.

I live very near to Luton which, with its multi-cultural and ethnic population, is very lively and its arts scene is blossoming.  The most lively and colourful event is the annual Carnival.  I have particular love of all the colour and music and movement involved in the carnival and much of my work at present is centred around this event.  Luton Carnival is the largest one day carnival in the UK and Luton is the base for the International Centre for Carnival Arts.  My carnival paintings in particular lend themselves to being shown in large spaces and are very bright and draw the eye.

My work is frequently on show and here are some photos from my  current exhibition in The Gordon Craig Theatre Foyer in Stevenage,Hertfordshire.
